Home Learning at Meadow View Nursery
At Meadow View, we are passionate about working in partnership with our families to support each child’s learning and development both in nursery and at home. We know that young children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful interactions — and this continues outside the nursery setting.
Home learning offers a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the connection between nursery and home, helping children to feel secure, confident, and excited about learning.
To support this, we have our Lending Library available in the foyer, where you are welcome to borrow books to enjoy with your child at home. Sharing stories together is a great way to build language, imagination, and a love of reading. 'Chat, Play, Share’ activity sheets from the Westmorland and Furness Early Years team are also available in the entrance foyer. These are full of rhymes and fun ideas to support your child’s speech, language, and communication at home.
We also include home learning ideas alongside your child’s assessments, so you can support them towards their next steps in learning in a fun and practical way.
We love hearing what your child has been up to at home! Feel free to share photos, drawings, or quick updates — they help us build a fuller picture of your child’s interests, progress, and achievements.
Thank you for being such an important part of your child’s learning journey.
